Goji Berry Tea Recipe & Benefits
Goji berries are a simple way to get more energy without drinking more caffeine.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, Gou qi zi, enter the liver, lung and kidney meridians and enrich the liver and kidney yin, benefits the essence and brightens the eyes, and moistens the lungs. I buy them dried and add to your tea. They also are good for blurred vision, dizziness, sore back and legs, low-grade abdominal pain, impotence, consumptive cough, wasting and thirsting disorder. They are packed with tiny seeds and may be hard to digest for some people. Add to tea, Trail mix, chocolate or by the handful.
Goji Berry Tea Recipe
Ingredients
6-8 tbsp dried goji berries
4 Cups Hot Filtered Water
Optional
Fresh ginger slices
Raw honey to sweeten
Instructions
Rinse the goji berries (the traditional Chinese way to make tea is to pour boiling over the berries, then throw the water away- the berries will then have been "washed").
Bring the water to the boil, then pour it over the goji berries into a mug.
Let tea steep for a minimum of 20 minutes
Add-in optional ingredients (ginger or honey)
Pour into cups, scoop some of the berries into each cup as well.
