Acupuncture for Migraines

Over 39 million men, women, and children in the United States struggle with migraines. Symptoms of migraine including intense, debilitating headache that may be accompanied by nausea, vomiting, and/or e xtreme sensitivity to light and sound.

Traditional treatments aren’t always enough to manage pain and symptoms, and they often come with negative side effects like fatigue, depression, nausea, dizziness, tingling, drowsiness, dry mouth, shakiness, weight changes, hair loss, confusion, difficulty concentrating, and more.

One promising method of managing migraine symptoms is acupuncture. Emerging research has found that acupuncture reduced the frequency of headaches by roughly 50% in migraine sufferers. The American Migraine Foundation and the World Health Organization recognize the value of acupuncture for migraines and pain, as do many patients.

“I started seeing acupuncturist, Amy White right before Christmas. It was the first time I have gone to one and I went after a few people suggested that I five it a try. I was desperate for some relief for my brain injury symptoms. I am now going on record to say that I am 100% convinced in acupuncture treatments. I noticed immediate relief… For the first time since the accident I can see a future without migraines and dizziness. I can see a normal life. I didn’t see that before and was starting to despair. Thank you!!! I’m so happy the universe put us together!” Lorie Simmons

In addition to migraines, research has highlighted the benefits of acupuncture for other health concerns, including:
